Aluminium powder, available grades: Analytical Reagent (AR) ≥99.0%. A strongly reducing metal powder that releases flammable hydrogen on contact with water or moist air. Class 4.3 for uncoated powder; coated aluminium powder is carried as Class 4.1 flammable solid. Used as a metallothermic (thermite) reducing agent, a steel deoxidiser and alloying additive, and in pigments and pyrotechnics.
